If you're 19+ and want to embark on a career in the healthcare sector but don't have the required qualifications, this six-month course could be the perfect place to start.
Successful completion of this course, and any English and maths qualifications you require, guarantees you a place on one of the following Access to Higher Education diplomas at Hugh Baird College:
- Access to Higher Education - Allied Health Professionals
- Access to Higher Education - Nursing and Midwifery
- Access to Higher Education - Social Work
As part of this programme, you will be studying the following courses:
- Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health (NCFE)
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism (NCFE)
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Personal Care Needs (NCFE)
- GCSE or Functional Skills English and/or Maths if required
With just a year of additional study, you could then be eligible to progress to a related university-level course at the Hugh Baird University Centre or one of many universities across the country.
