Careers Advice

Do you need help exploring your career options? Are you struggling to know where to start when looking for a future job or career? Whatever your need, our impartial Careers Advisors can help.

Our team of advisors are highly qualified, Matrix accredited professionals, which means they’re fully trained to help you find the perfect career option that suits you. They’re able to offer you Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) any time you need it, whether you’re a member of the community, a current student or former student.

Career Coach

Our Career Coach tool can help you find your dream career. It provides current and future local information on wages, employment, job postings and the associated courses that we offer.

The tool and information should be used as a starting point and a helpful guide. Any information can be discussed in further detail with a member of our team.

Gatsby Benchmarks

In January 2018 the Government released a set of careers guidance benchmarks to ensure high quality and aspirational careers advice and guidance was available to all students. The 'Gatsby Benchmarks' outline the expected standards for quality careers guidance:

  1. A stable careers programme
  2. Learning from career and labour market information
  3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
  4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
  5. Encounters with employers and employees
  6. Experiences of workplaces
  7. Encounters with further and higher education
  8. Personal guidance
