Arrival Times

Gowning and photography will take place on the day at the University Centre building.

You have been allocated an arrival time slot based on the course you studied with us and the faculty in which your course was based.

We ask that you adhere to these arrival times to help the Events Team manage waiting times and queuing. We also ask that your guests attend at this time as there will be photo opportunities for you all to enjoy.

  • 10:00am - Faculty of Health and Education Graduates arrival
  • 10:20am - Faculty of Creative Industries Graduates arrival
  • 10:45am - Faculty of Engineering, Business and Computing Graduate arrival

Following a group photo of graduates and staff, we will ask everyone to make the short walk to Bootle Town Hall at 12:00 noon. If the weather is poor, then a bus shuttle service will be provided free of charge.

Your student identification number will be required to access this webpage. If you no longer remember your number, please email

The cost of your cap and gown will be £46 (payable via the link shown above). For this, you will receive the hire of your gown, hood and mortarboard for the day. The University Centre will be contributing towards cost of your mortarboard. This means you will be able to take your mortarboard home with you at the end of the ceremony to keep as a memento.

You must have booked your gown hire by no later than Friday, 1st November 2019. No entry will be granted to the Ceremony without a cap and gown so please ensure you meet this deadline.

Professional Graduation photography for yourself and friends and family will also be available on the day.

Additional Guests

All Graduates have been allocated two complimentary guest tickets for the Graduation Ceremony (Graduate plus two guests).

Unfortunately, due to overwhelming demand, we have had to cap additional guest tickets at two per graduate. These additional tickets can be purchased at a cost of £12 per additional guest ticket.

Graduates must not arrive with more guests than have been paid for. Any additional guests without tickets will be refused entry on the day.

Graduate and guest tickets will be posted to you in the coming weeks and must be presented on the day in order to access the ceremony.

Dietary and Special Requirements

Should you have any allergies, dietary requirement, disability requirements or other special requirements, please email no later than Friday, 1st November 2019.

Please note: there is disabled access into the University Centre and at the Town Hall, however there will be a short walk from the University Centre over to the Town Hall. There is parking at the town hall but this will be limited. A shuttle bus service will also be available for anyone needing assistance getting to and from the Town Hall from the University Centre. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate prams at the either the pre-event reception at the University Centre building or during the graduation ceremony at Bootle Town Hall. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.


Free parking has been made available at Bootle Cricket Club for this event. Please park sensibly and note that parking is at your own risk. Bootle Cricket Club is located on Wadham Road, Bootle, L20 2DD.

Ceremony Start Time

We understand that some of your guests may not be able to attend the pre-event reception at the University Centre. if this is the case, then they must be at Bootle Town Hall by no later than 12:45pm. Guests must present their ticket. Entry without a ticket will not be possible. Please note: parking is limited around the Town Hall so please allow ample time to locate a parking space.

Failure to arrive by 12.45pm will result in access being denied to the Graduation Ceremony.

Following the Ceremony

Following the Ceremony, Graduates, guests and staff are invited to attend an afternoon tea with entertainment and bar at the Hugh Baird University Centre. Here, Graduates will give their gowns back and collect other important information.
