Are you a support worker in a health and social care setting? Do you want to develop your skills and become an assistant practitioner? Then FdSc Assistant Practitioner in Health and Social Care is the course for you.
This programme was designed to provide academic progression for support workers. It has been mapped to National Occupational Standards, so you will gain the skills and knowledge related to your chosen professional route, as well as generic knowledge within ethics, values base, and academic writing.
Successful completion of the programme means that you will have the required academic accreditation for progression onto the top up degree programme at the University of Cumbria.

- This programme will give you the knowledge and skills needed to become an Assistant Practitioner.
- You may then be able to progress onto an allied health professional
course, such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Radiography and
Physiotherapy.

Tuition fee loans cover university/college tuition fees and are paid direct to the university/college by Student Finance England, so you don’t need a pot of money up front.
They are available to all eligible students regardless of household income. The amount you pay back is dependent on how much you earn and not how much you owe and you won’t need to start paying them back until you are earning more than a certain amount.
