Course Details

This course is designed for learners aged 19 and above who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in computer programming.

The Award in Computer Programming Level 2 will introduce you to the principles of programming and enable you to design and develop your own computer programs using a text-based programming language.

  • Principles of programming
  • Programming environments
  • Program design in response to a client brief
  • Development of programs using a text-based programming language
  • Testing, refining, documenting, and reviewing programs
Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Award in Computer Programming
1pm - 4pm each Thursday for 10 weeks.

Upon completion, you may have the opportunity to progress to a Foundation Degree in Computing at the Hugh Baird University Centre, depending on prior qualifications and experience.

This qualification may lead to future positions or further study in fields such as:

  • Software Development
  • Web Development
  • IT Support
  • Further education in Computer Science or Software Engineering
