Course Details

The course has been specifically designed for those who want to develop their practical skills in catering and who need to develop their English language skills.

You will learn the vocabulary needed to work and communicate in a catering environment.

In addition to developing skills in Construction, you will also develop your English language skills and achieve an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) qualification.

  • How to prepare food by baking, roasting and grilling.
  • A range of techniques for preparing food.
  • English vocabulary for kitchen equipment and procedures.
  • Health and Safety in the kitchen.
  • Food quality.
  • Working as a team in a restaurant environment.
Entry 3 Award.
2 days per week for 10 weeks.
  • A full-time College course e.g. Professional Cookery and Food and Beverage Service - Level 1.
