Course Details

This City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations is designed for practising electricians who want to formally develop their skills in both initial verification of new installations and the periodic inspection and testing of existing systems.

It combines theory and practical skills aligned with BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 Wiring Regulations and IET.

  • Safe isolation procedures
  • Health and safety requirements for inspection and testing
  • Initial verification of new installations
  • Periodic inspection and testing of existing installations
  • Testing sequences and methods (dead and live tests
  • Interpretation of test results and expected values
  • Completion of electrical installation certificates and condition reports
  • Observations and coding in line with BS 7671
  • Use of test instruments and documentation
