Course Details

This T-level course is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to enter the engineering industry. Students can progress to apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, employment or University.

You will be trained in a real-world engineering workshop where you will gain experience in benchwork, lathe work, milling work and drilling work.

You will also be able to undertake welding skills in our fully equipped welding workshop. You will also undertake computer-aided design (CAD) training.

You will complete a minimum of 45 days of industry placement over the 2 year course, allowing you to develop real-life experiences in this industry, as well as make meaningful connections with established professionals and experts. This opportunity is unique to T-levels and gives you a strong head start in this competitive market in terms of progression.

The core content covers a whole range of topics related to the industry including:

  • An employer led project.
  • A core module consisting of 17 topics, including, maths, science, project planning, health and safety and continuous professional development.
  • An occupation specialism module relevant to manufacturing engineering.

T-levels are recognised by Universities and hold a more substantial UCAS value than some A-levels or BTECs. A T-level is worth the equivalent of 3 A-levels. Due to the high level of industry experience you will receive, you would also be in a very strong position to move onto an Apprenticeship.
