Course Details

This is a one year course for those aged 16-18 years old.

The intent of this programme is to support learners in developing essential personal, social, and employability skills that will enable them to lead more independent, confident, and fulfilling lives. Through the NCFE Entry Level 2 Certificate in Personal and Social Development, learners will explore a range of topics including developing self-awareness, managing social relationships, dealing with everyday problems, healthy living, environmental awareness, and preparation for work. This foundation aims to build learners’ confidence, resilience, and ability to engage positively in their communities and future learning.

Alongside studying the core personal and social development units, learners will also choose one of the following vocational pathways to specialise in, allowing them to begin developing practical skills in a specific area of interest:

  • Hair and Beauty
  • Automotive
  • Health and Social Care
  • Carpentry and Joinery
  • Building Services

Upon successful completion of the Entry Level 2 qualification, learners will have the opportunity to progress to the NCFE Entry Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Studies. This next stage focuses on further enhancing learners’ confidence, teamwork, and practical skills through units such as basic cooking, taking part in sport, and understanding how the body works.

Progression to the Entry Level 3 qualification is contingent upon satisfactory achievement of the Entry Level 2 programme, ensuring that learners are fully prepared to take on the increased challenge and responsibility of the next stage in their development.

This course is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and tailored to meet the individual needs of learners, with a strong emphasis on personal growth, social interaction, vocational exploration, and preparation for future opportunities in education, employment, or independent living.
