Pink, White and Blue Liverpool
Being a student at a college in a big city like Liverpool can sometimes seem daunting and for members of the trans community, it can be especially difficult to find safe and inclusive spaces to spend your weekends or to even get a haircut.
That is why the Trans and Non-Binary Representative, Jack Evans at Liverpool Hope University Students’ Union has created a guide to the city for trans students and has been kind enough to allow us to share it for all those who may want it. The guide can be found below and covers the following topics:
- Unisex, non-gendered barbers and salons in the center of Liverpool
- Events tailored to the LGBTQ+ community you can get involved with
- Inclusive cafes and coffee shops
- Bars and clubs (18 and over)
- LGBTQ+ inclusive sports teams in the local area
- Local support for members of the trans community
It is also important to remember that we have staff members trained to provide support for trans students through their transitions in our Student Services team (The POD). You can find out more information here: www.hughbaird.ac.uk/lgbtq
