Course Details
This course is for those aged 19 and above who wish to pursue a career in Criminology.
This course will enable you to develop knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to working in the Criminology Sector. It will cover the British Criminal Justice System, Policing and the Penal system.
As part of this programme, you will also study the Key Principles of the Criminal Justice System. It will prepare you for further learning or training and/or develop knowledge and/or skills in this subject area.
- Introduction to the Criminal Justice System
- Introduction to Policing and Policing
- Introduction to the Law and Criminal Justice Law
- Introduction to equality and inclusion in access to the law and judiciary.
- Introduction to Criminal Theory
- The role of the Courts, Magistrates and Penal Systems
- Introduction for access to legal

Learners who successfully achieve this qualification** would be in a position to progress to a Foundation Degree in Criminology course at the Hugh Baird University Centre.
