This Foundation Degree will offer an opportunity to gain both practical and academic training in the skills and knowledge required to work within the thriving visitor economy of the Liverpool City Region that encompasses the hospitality sector. It can be studied part time or full time and applications from mature students with relevant experience are particularly welcome.

Undergraduates will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of live projects to support the visitor economy and will learn from some of the region’s best chefs, service staff, hoteliers and restaurateurs . What sets this course apart from others, is the support from those directly involved in the hospitality sector and the high level of expertise from industry practitioners.

Teaching and learning will be delivered through a range of lectures, practical workshops and industry placement and undergraduates will benefit from studying in our multi-million pound University Centre, as well as learning within the industry-endorsed L20 Hotel School.

Guest speakers with substantial industry involvement will form a key aspect of delivery and the opportunity for placement within a variety of hospitality establishments will further enhance learning.

  • Licensed Hospitality
  • Delivering the Customer Experience

FdA Year 2:

  • Business and Accounting Principles for Hospitality
  • Human Resource Management and the Legal Framework
  • Performance Management in Hospitality
  • Services Marketing for Hospitality
  • Plan and Manage a Hospitality Event
  • Accommodation and the Front Office

Students who successfully complete this course may have the opportunity to progress onto the final year of the BA (Hons) Management in Hospitality course at the University of Central Lancashire.

How much will this course cost me?

Tuition fee loans cover university/college tuition fees and are paid direct to the university/college by Student Finance England, so you don’t need a pot of money up front.

They are available to all eligible students regardless of household income. The amount you pay back is dependent on how much you earn and not how much you owe and you won’t need to start paying them back until you are earning more than a certain amount.
