Course Details

Throughout this one year course you will have the opportunity to engage in local and national festivals and events offering you the chance to build industry contacts and work experience opportunities. In addition, you will learn the core functions of marketing and operations within a business organisation allowing you the opportunity to run your own business venture.

Teaching and learning on the course will be delivered through a range of lectures, practical workshops, research seminars, group work and analysis of live events.

Guest speakers from different areas of the festival industry will facilitate professional workshops and Q&A sessions. Undergraduates will also be involved in local and national festivals.

You will study a range of core modules, including:

  • The Future of the Events Industry
  • Festivals in Society and Culture
  • Managing for strategic success in Tourism, Hospitality and Events
  • Management Development in Tourism Hospitality & Events

One year, full time or two years, part time.
All students who successfully complete this degree may have the opportunity to progress onto a Master’s level qualification at the University of Central Lancashire or another higher education provider, or may wish to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the Hugh Baird University Centre. Alternatively, graduates may wish to progress directly into employment.

How much will this course cost me?

Tuition fee loans cover university/college tuition fees and are paid direct to the university/college by Student Finance England, so you don’t need a pot of money up front.

They are available to all eligible students regardless of household income. The amount you pay back is dependent on how much you earn and not how much you owe and you won’t need to start paying them back until you are earning more than a certain amount.
