Course Details

This qualification provides learners with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in a school or college environment. It will enable learners to gain an understanding of elements including children and young people’s development and safeguarding their welfare.

This qualification aims to:

  • Focus on the study of supporting teaching and learning
  • Offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge.

The objectives of this qualification are to:

  • Provide learners with knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment
  • Provide a steppingstone into further learning within the sector.

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve 4 mandatory units.

  • Understand How Children and Young People Develop
Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning
10am - 1pm each Thursday for 14 weeks.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the Level 5 Certificate in Education at the Hugh Baird University Centre.
