Apprenticeship Details

This course is for those aged 16 and above who are wishing to undertake a career as a Beauty Therapist.

With the demand for beauty therapy and cosmetic enhancement on the rise, the beauty industry is booming and employers are looking for dynamic employees to help deliver new and innovative treatments to paying clients.

On this Apprenticeship, you will learn how to provide, design and implement bespoke treatment plans. These advanced treatments range from advanced manual therapies such as advanced massage techniques, technical therapies such as face and body electrical treatments, to meet and manage client needs and expectations. You will learn to implement organisational operations (salon business systems and processes, data protection) to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, contribute to financial the effectiveness of the business, maintaining and maximising resources, (people, equipment and consumables).

Employment with a local salon or spa will be an essential feature of this apprenticeship. As part of this apprenticeship, you will also take part in the enrichment days to keep you up to date with current trends in the industry. 

  • Treatment planning
  • Advanced Massage
  • Advanced facial technical therapy treatments e.g. microcurrent, microdermabrasion, LED
  • Advanced body technical therapy treatments e.g. LED, skin warming devices, high/radio frequency
  • Promoting and selling products
  • Develop and maintain salon procedures e.g. social media, stock control
  • Aged 16+
  • You must be employed within a relevant environment and provide evidence that you have the skills, knowledge and behaviours required by the sector at Level 2.
  • You must demonstrate Maths and English skills at Level 1 or above in your initial Maths and English assessment.

Most apprenticeships take between 12 - 18 months to complete.

Yes, you will be paid by your employer for the duration of your apprenticeship. You will be paid at least the government’s minimum wage rate for apprentices, £3.70. A lot of employers pay their apprentices a higher hourly wage than the minimum rate.

This is ultimately up to your employers, but more than 90% of apprentices stay in employment after their course ends.
