You will study GCSEs in maths, English, science and computing. Making sure you develop the right skills in these areas is at the centre of our vision for the 14-16 College.

  • OCR Cambridge National Business and Enterprise Level 1 (Year 10)

Work-related vocational pathway

You will pick one of the following pathways to follow. You should think carefully when picking this part of your course. We want you to enjoy what you choose and it should be something you think you’d like to do as a career. If you’re not sure, or you don’t know, don’t worry, we have Careers Advisors on hand who will sit and talk through the options with you. Just ask at your interview.

Hospitality and Catering

NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Food and Cookery (Year 10) and City & Guilds Tech Bac in Food and Cookery at Level 2 (Year 11).

Visitor Economy (Travel and Tourism)

BTEC First Diploma Level 1 and 2 in Travel and Tourism.

Motor Vehicle Engineering

ABC Automotive Studies Level 1 and Automotive/Engineering related qualification.

Health and Social Care

BTEC First Diploma Level 1 and 2 in Health and Social Care.

Nursing and Health Pre-Cadet Programme

BTEC Level 2 in Health and Social Care – Extended Diploma.

Performing Arts

BTEC First Diploma Level 1 and 2 in Performing Arts


All of our students have the chance to take part in enrichment activities. We run regular sports sessions including dance, football, water sports and offer the chance to spend a day with the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. Many students also take the opportunity to study extra maths, English and science to help improve their GCSE grades.
