In recent years, there has been a substantial increase in the popularity of festivals. Liverpool City region in particular has become a leading visitor destination, due in no small part to its outstanding programme of festivals and events.
Nationally, as well as the long established large scale music events, the festival calendar is now seeing new events emerging with themes from food and drink, arts and culture, to business and sport. Such a diverse industry offers a variety of job opportunities and this means that there has never been a better time to consider a career in the festivals industry.
Our courses offer an opportunity to gain both practical and academic training in the skills and knowledge required to work at a range of levels within the thriving and varied festivals and events industry. The courses can be studied part time or full time and applications from mature learners with relevant experience are particularly welcome.
Chris Herstad Carney, Producer, Threshold Festival
“I’m pleased to be so closely involved with the Festival Management course. The undergraduates’ enthusiasm for the industry is great and working at the Threshold Festival 2016 will give them hands on experience of a full scale event.”
