Support for Undergraduates

At the beginning of your course you’ll complete an induction assessment to see if you require any further support with your written work.

If you do, an additional workshop may be provided to help you. Study skills resources will also be available for students on the virtual learning environment and study skills sessions may be organised within your tutorial hour.

If you are worried about your literacy or numeracy skills, or would like to discuss any support needs, speak to the course tutor when you are invited to interview or contact the DSA/SEN Coordinator on 0151 353 4444, ext 5920 or matt.wilson@hughbaird.ac.uk.

Disability Support

Whilst studying at the Hugh Baird University Centre you may be entitled to some extra support through Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs) in the form of:

  • specialist equipment *
  • non-medical helper allowance
  • travel allowance *

* You may be required to provide a contribution towards these costs.

Evidence of your disability is needed before individual adjustments can be made and the evidence required depends on your disability.

You may be eligible for disability support if you have a:

  • physical difficulty
  • mental health condition
  • specific learning difficulty (i.e. dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder)
