The hospitality and catering offer at Hugh Baird College is called the L20 Hotel School.
The school is run slightly different to other parts of the college, our students work with lecturers as on other courses but we also have a general manager, a head chef, sous chef, restaurant manager and our own team of apprentices, this allows students on full time course the chance to have work experience in the L20 Hotel School via it's flagship restaurant, L20 Restaurant.
The work experience may be in one of the kitchens preparing food for the restaurant and bar or in the new building preparing food for staff, students visitors. Other areas of work experience include food service in the restaurant and cafes or as part of a function.
Liverpool is a vibrant city with hotels, bars, restaurant and clubs. This brings many opportunities for those who have been trained to work in hospitality and the visitor economy. As Liverpool’s visitors grow, the city and region continue to expand with new venues and an exciting cruise terminal that will create jobs for those wanting to provide hospitality at sea and travel the world.
