Higher Business and Professional Administration Level 4

You will study a mixture of units designed to give you an insight into the many different areas of professional administration. 

This qualification is ideal if you work as an office manager, team leader, personal assistant or business development executive.  It is suitable for any sector or industry and will develop a broad range of skills to work efficiently and increase productivity.

You will improve your administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills.

You will study a range of modules as part of the course, including these core units for the Diploma in Business Administration:

  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Manage personal and professional development
  • Manage the work of an administrate function
  • Resolve administrative problems

You will also be able to choose a number of optional units which will allow you to study particular areas in more depth. These include:

  • Champion customer service
  • Encourage innovation
  • Initiate and implement operational change
  • Optimise the use of technology
  • Manage information systems
  • Encourage learning and development

You will also study a range of modules as part of the technical qualification, including these core units for the Diploma in Business and Professional Administration:

  • Understanding organisations
  • Effective communication in business
  • Business ethics
  • Personal and professional development
  • Resource management

You will also be able to choose a number of optional units which will allow you to study particular areas in more depth. These include:

  • Planning and implementing change within business
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Project management
  • Planning and managing customer service

You will also achieve:

  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

What are the entry requirements?

In order to qualify for this course, you will need:

  • To be able to demonstrate ability equivalent of or exceeding level 2 English and Mathematics
  • You must be working in a supervisory role in business and administration, customer service, human resources, industrial relations or marketing and sales
  • Ideally, you will have an Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification particularly in the related areas of Administration and Finance, Retail Business, Information Technology or Public Services.

Entry to all courses are subject to a successful interview, a satisfactory reference from your school or employer and evidence that you will be a committed student .

  • Foundation degree in areas such as Business, Business Management and Business Administration
