Higher Apprenticeship in Management Level 4

You will study a mixture of units designed to give you an insight into the many different areas of management. 

This qualification is ideal for new and aspiring department leads, regional team leaders and other middle managers who provide a leadership role across any industry or sector. 

You will improve your leadership skills, including self-management, relationship building, negotiation, influencing skills.  Be able to manage change and practice the skills to win and maintain internal and external customer loyalty.

You will study a range of modules as part of the course, including these core units for the Diploma in Management:

  • Manage personal and professional development
  • Provide leadership and management
  • Develop and implement an operational plan
  • Develop working relationships with stakeholders

You will also be able to choose a number of optional units which will allow you to study particular areas in more depth. These include:

  • Develop and maintain professional networks
  • Manage a tendering process
  • Manage redundancy and deployment
  • Analyse competitor activity
  • Negotiate in a business environment

You will also study a range of modules as part of the technical qualification, including these core units for the Diploma in Principles of Leadership and Management:

  • Understand the management role to improve management performance
  • Manage personal development
  • Manage and implementing change in the workplace
  • Understanding and developing relationships in the workplace

You will also be able to choose a number of optional units which will allow you to study particular areas in more depth. These include:

  • Developing your leadership styles
  • Management coaching and mentoring

You will also achieve:

  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

What are the entry requirements?

In order to qualify for this course, you will need:

  • To be able to demonstrate ability equivalent of or exceeding level 2 English and Mathematics
  • You will be working / moving into a middle management role to ensure that you have the suitable foundations on which to further build your knowledge and skills.
  • Achieved an Advanced Apprenticeship in a wide range of sector specific areas, such as Retail, Business and Professional Administration, Healthcare or Management. Or demonstrate sufficient experience of working in a management role. 

Entry to all courses are subject to a successful interview, a satisfactory reference from your school or employer and evidence that you will be a committed student.

  • Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Management and Leadership
  • A range of Business and Management undergraduate programmes
  • Foundation Degree in areas such as Business, Business Management and Management
  • Possible membership of professional bodies, including the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management
  • Further employment opportunities in current job role / alternative job roles
