Business Improvement Techniques

An Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques will give your employees recognition for delivering quality and cost improvements to your business. This is a broad, cross-functional qualification designed to support the overall effective operation of the business.

The apprenticeship framework is made up from a number of components:

NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques

Learners must complete 5 mandatory units as well as 1 optional unit depending on the chosen pathway and credit value. This unit may include:

  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • Contributing to effective team work
  • Contributing to the analysis and selection of parts for improvement
  • Contributing to the application of continuous improvement techniques
  • Contributing to the development of visual management system

Level 2 VRQ in Business Improvement Techniques

Learners must complete 5 mandatory units which are the underpinning knowledge for this qualification. These units are:

  • Understand statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • Contribute to workplace organisation techniques
  • Understand continuous improvement techniques
  • Contribute to solving problems in a flow process
  • Contributing to the development of visual management system

Other Framework Components

Learners must also complete the additional framework components of the Apprenticeship:

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 1
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities Workbook
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Delivery Method

Assessors will visit learners once per month which will be in a classroom based group session with 1 to 1 support for Functional Skills if required.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship, assessments for Maths and English will be completed on enrolment.
