Apprenticeships are very popular programmes designed by employers that provide paid work-experience, training and qualifications to people aged 16 and above.
An Apprenticeship framework comprises:
- A work-based qualification NVQ National Vocational Qualification), assessed in the workplace, demonstrating practical skills linked to the job
- Functional skills, which show competency in English and maths applied to the workplace
- Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS); they include creative thinking, independent enquiry, reflective learner, effective participator, self management and team working.
This apprenticeship programme will enable you to develop your skills and knowledge while working in the industry. On successful completion you'll be recognised as a qualified instructor, able to work with groups or individuals to help them improve their fitness.
Whilst on the course you will study the anatomy and physiology of the human body, how to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective gym-based exercise programmes, the health benefits of physical activity, the importance of healthy eating and much more.
