Link Governor – 14-16, Community and Safeguarding
Member of the Quality and Standards Committee
For the past 44 years I have been involved with community/voluntary work in the local area, starting with pre-school playgroup when our son was 3 years old. Numerous challenges have followed, usually involving the interests of our children.
37 years ago I began helping out at Bootle YMCA Community Centre as a volunteer, and I am currently the Chair of the Trustees.
Funding cuts have had a significant impact on the centre and we have had to rely on volunteers. I have gained the utmost pleasure in seeing how our hard work has helped us go from strength to strength.
I am also an advisory member of the Linacre and Derby Area Committee and a member of Sefton Health Watch.
As one of the most recently appointed community governors, I welcome a new challenge, and will do the best I can for the College.
