Hugh Baird College is pleased to be able to offer courses that will be free of charge to adults who are employed, but on a low income.
The change comes following a decision by the Government’s Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to offer fully funded courses to learners on low wages.
Those aged 19+ who earn less than £15,736 each year (£8.07 per hour) and are in full or part-time employment will be able to benefit from free adult courses at Levels 1 and 2, potentially saving thousands of pounds.
Yana Williams, Hugh Baird College Principal & Chief Executive, said:
“One of the biggest barriers to getting back into education for adults is how to pay course fees. This funding change will benefit those who are looking to up-skill or retrain but before now could not afford the cost or access financial support.”
“Now we are able to offer this support, we are hoping to welcome many additional adults to the College in order to improve their career prospects.”
Eligible courses for this funding include a wide range of subject areas, with courses available to start in September 2018:
Course fees remission is subject to eligibility criteria. If you are unsure about whether you are eligible, or if remission is available on the course you are interested in, please contact Hugh Baird College for advice on 0151 353 4444 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
