Four students from Thornton College have been undertaking work experience placements at Hugh Baird College in Bootle. They have been based in the College’s Hair and Beauty dispensary, working alongside staff to make sure the teaching department, and the College’s Hair and beauty Salon Images, run smoothly.
On Thursday, Chelsea Gillinder, Sam Hart-Hughes, Sam Byrne and Lita Jovaisa had the opportunity to sample Hugh Baird’s Hair and Beauty services and were invited into the salon for a few hours of pampering and to see what a customer experience of visiting Images is like.
Lita and Chelsea opted to have their nails painted whilst Sam and Sam visited the artistic makeup department and retuned as Spiderman and Freddie Krueger! It was great fun for all involved and allowed Hugh Baird students a chance to show what they have learnt during their studies so far.
The four students are all undertaking work experience placements in order to ready them for employment when they leave Thornton at the end of the academic year. They have been developing their customer service and communication skills, as well as having a huge amount of fun!
