About Hugh Baird College

We are one of the largest providers of education and training in the area, delivering over 300 courses to more than 5,000 students. We offer courses ranging from Entry Level to Level 3, A-levels, Apprenticeships and University level courses, Foundation Degrees and Degrees.

Working closely with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and employers, we are continuously reviewing and developing our curriculum offer to ensure our students have the best opportunity to progress, whether it be into employment or further study. We also want to ensure that students are able to train to the highest standards with the very best opportunities to progress.

On 1st December 2017, following Sefton Council approval and support, South Sefton College in Litherland became part of Hugh Baird College. South Sefton College was renamed as Hugh Baird College’s South Sefton Campus and it is home to our dedicated Sixth Form Centre which houses our A-level provision.

We have launched the L20 Hotel School where the qualifications delivered will fulfil the needs of the Liverpool City Region tourism sector and help provide well trained and job ready students to the city’s growing visitor economy.

We are also responding to the exciting SuperPort developments right on our doorstep by creating the Port Academy Liverpool building, which offers port operations courses that allow our learners to forge careers in this exciting, global and well paid sector.

The personal support we offer our students is outstanding and our learners tell us they like our safe and secure campus, and the friendly multicultural atmosphere. It’s a grown up environment where people treat each other equally and with respect.

We are continually looking to develop our facilities and this we have opened our new state-of-the-art gym and fitness centre in collaboration with Lifestyle Fitness. The centre is accessible by students and staff as well as being open to members of our local community.

This complements our newly designed cafes and restaurants and our new L20 Building which houses our University centre, performance space, cafe and community library.
