Plumbing - Level 1

This course will allow you to develop the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to become a plumber.

You’ll learn the importance of working safely, how water is affected by gravity, cold/heat and pressure. It will guide you on site preparation, knowing the different grades of copper, which tools to and what they are called. You’ll also learn about hot and cold water, drainage, rainwater and renewable energies.

The programme also includes studying maths and English towards GCSE grade A*-C (new grading system: 9-4) if you do not already have these grades.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal qualifications for our Level 1 courses.

The College will always treat each applicant as an individual. Should you not have or not expect to obtain the grades stated above, or not have relevant industry-related experience, the College would still welcome your application for this course as this will enable us to identify whether this course is, in fact, the right course for you or whether another course may be more appropriate.
